Cocker Spaniel Puppies will grow to an average height of about 14-15 inches measured at the shoulder. Their short tail wags happily and their long droopy ears convey a friendly innocence.  Males are slightly larger than females.

Proper color for show dogs could be black or any other solid color other than black and parti-color. Black and tan is acceptable as long as the black is a pure black color. Tan is to be found on the legs, feet, muzzle, over the eyes, and under the ears.  The chest may or may not be tan. Parti-color is defined as white mixed with any other color. The color known as roan is acceptable as well. It is possible to have three colors. Blonde and red are allowed with or without tan.  If the animal is a solid color, white markings are allowed on the chest and throat.

These dogs make excellent indoor pets. They are very intelligent and have beautiful coats. Cocker spaniel puppies are better off in homes that do not have young misbehaving children.  Proper socialization at an early age is important  to insure there will be no behavior problems such as aggression later. Introduce your puppy to as many people and other pets as early as possible. Their wonderful temperament has made the Cocker Spaniel puppy America’s choice for dogs. Cockers are bouncy, enthusiastic, upbeat, loyal, and easy to train. Just the right combination of attributes for most people.

While their exercise requirements are not extreme they do need moderate exercise and will become overweight without some playtime. Their feelings are hurt easily so control of their conduct must done in an amiable way.

The high demand for these dogs has led so many poorly trained breeders to get into the business that a large number of undesirable dogs are on the market. Check your breeder out carefully before seeking Cocker Spaniel puppies for sale.

As an owner you should enjoy their active and playful lifestyle. Cocker Spaniels are better suited for indoor life. You should never leave them alone outdoors for hours at a time. In the summer months be sure to give your dog a shady retreat away from the sun as their long coats keep them from staying cool.

Choosing  Cocker spaniel puppies can bring a lot of happiness to you and your family.

A good breeder can produce dogs with few health problems. Some of the occasional problems that occur can be heart problems, epilepsy, and retinal atrophy. Sometimes ear and skin infections can be present as well as cataracts, glaucoma, and hemophilia.

More rarely hip dysplasia is seen but you might want to have your vet check you new dog for this problem.
