Pitbull puppies are members of a breed that are medium sized dogs (20-110 pounds), short coated, muscular body, square shaped head, and a strong, wide jaw. While some dogs are over 100 pounds in body weight most fall in the 25-40 pound range. The neck is muscular and short. Pitbulls are powerful, athletic, and outgoing. The ears can be left natural or cropped. The tail is short, thick, and tapers to a point. A good dog is not thin and lanky nor overly muscle bound and stocky. Any color is acceptable for show purposes except for merle. The blue pitbull puppies sometimes called blue nose pitbull puppies are especially popular.
Pitbulls tend to be a very people-loving breed and crave attention. They can be especially good with children and seem desirous of companionship. The key to successfully owning a pitbull puppy is responsible ownership. These dogs are people friendly but not friendly toward other dogs. The exception might be a non-dominant dog of opposite sex. Obedience training of pitbull puppies and using a leash in public are important. When traveling a large dog cage can be a benefit. Pitbulls have a natural preying instinct and are subject to chasing other animals and cattle. These animals are very energetic and require a great deal of exercise. This exercise requirement is an important consideration when thinking about owing a pitbull.
Socialization of the pitbull puppy is important. The dog should be exposed to as many different adults and well behaved children as possible. The experience should be positive and pleasant for the animal. Exposure to people should begin as early in the dog’s life as possible. The worst type of treatment for the dog would be to keep it confined and away from people. These dogs want very much to please their owners. A mistreated dog or one that is constantly ignored can turn out to be aggressive and problematic.
Pitbulls have an average life span of twelve years. They are a relatively healthy breed. A few may be subject to hip dysphasia, cataracts, or Parvo.
While pitbull puppies for sale can cost several thousand dollars, your local animal shelter can be a source of “free pitbull puppies”. Actually animal shelters must recover their medical costs, shots, and feeding so an adoption fee of $150 or so should be expected. Be sure to give consideration to adoption of a shelter animal if you are in the market for a dog. Purchase of pitbull puppies from a shelter gives more animals the opportunity to be sheltered.

HI JR
I have agree, pitbulls are not the badies that so many make them out to be, they are equally as loving and good natured as other dogs.
I agree we have a pitbull and you could not ask for a more friendly dog. It tries to be friendly to people but it is unbelievable the amount of people who run when they see her
